HB 2497  RELATING TO THE STATE INTERNET PORTAL      EDU, WAM
HD1     Establishes the Access Hawaii Committee to provide
        oversight of the portal manager who will be
        responsible for managing and operating the Internet
        portal on behalf of the State. (Say (BR))

HB 2490  RELATING TO THE HAWAII TEACHERS STANDARDS BOARD  EDU
HD1     Allows the Hawaii Teachers Standards Board to extend
        teaching credentials for teachers for 2000-2001 and
        2001-2002 school years on a case-by-case basis for
        teachers who are unable to become licensed due to
        extenuating circumstances. (Say(BR))

HB 2060  RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII       EDU, WAM
HD2     Authorizes the University of Hawaii (UH) community
        colleges to deposit their special fund revenues into
        UH system special funds. (Morihara/Takai/Thielen)

HB 2062  RELATING TO HIGHER EDUCATION               EDU, WAM
HD2     Allows UH to carry over funds from one year to the
        next. (Morihara/Takai/Thielen/Ahu Isa)

HB 2066  RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII       EDU, WAM
HD1     FACILITIES USE REVOLVING FUND
        Allows real property revenues of the University of
        Hawaii to be deposited into a university revolving
        fund. (Morihara/Takai/Ahu Isa/Ito)


 


 
HB 2073  RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII       EDU, WAM
HD2     Amends the composition of the board of directors for
        the RCUH. (Morihara/Takai)

HB 2620  RELATING TO THE RELIEF OF CERTAIN PERSONS'  EDU, WAM
HD2     CLAIMS AGAINST THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII AND 
        PROVIDING APPROPRIATIONS THEREFOR
        Appropriates funds for the payment of judgements
        against, and settlements entered into by, the
        University of Hawaii (UH) for the satisfaction of
        claims against UH, its officers, or employees. (Say

HB 2624  RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII       EDU, WAM
HD1     Recodifies the statutory authorization for the seed
        distribution program revolving fund for the University
        of Hawaii. (Say (BR))

HB 2760  RELATING TO THE COLLEGE SAVINGS PROGRAM    EDU, WAM
HD2     Allows the tax deduction of contributions made to a
        college savings program under chapter 256, HRS and
        amends chapter 256 to provide clear guidance for the
        implementation of the college savings program.

HB 2262  ESTABLISHING A COMMISSION TO CELEBRATE THE  EDU, WAM
HD2     ONE-HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ARRIVAL OF
        THE KOREANS TO HAWAII
        Establishes a commission to celebrate the 100th
        anniversary of the arrival of the Koreans to Hawaii.

HB 2408  RELATING TO THE STATE FOUNDATION ON CULTURE EDU, WAM
HD2     AND THE ARTS
        Includes under the works of art special fund, up to
        $300,000 a year, as approved by the state foundation
        on culture and the arts commissioners, for performing
        arts, including dance, theater, music, and opera.

HB 2409  MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE   EDU, WAM
HD1     DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND GENERAL SERVICES,
        INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SERVICES DIVISION
        Appropriates $800,000 to offset a shortfall in the
        Information Processing Services Program. (Say (BR))

than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at

least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony may also be e-
mailed to edu@capitol.hawaii.gov at least 24 hours priors to the
hearing.  When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is
being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the
required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
